Senator Folmer Invites Area Business Leaders to Serve on Advisory Committee

HARRISBURG – Senator Mike Folmer (Lebanon, Lancaster, Berks, Dauphin and Chester) today announced his plans to form a business advisory committee, and invited local business leaders to attend the committee's inaugural meeting on Wednesday, October, 31, from 7:30 – 9 a.m., at Elizabethtown College's Leffler Chapel.  Seating is limited and participants are encouraged to pre-register.

"In my first six months of office, I have worked to advance a pro-growth agenda to help strengthen and improve the state's job climate," said Senator Folmer. "As this agenda progresses, it is important to obtain input from those impacted the most – job creators. I encourage entrepreneurs, small business owners and all other members of the business community to attend this meeting, and share their issues and ideas for creating better paying jobs for the people of Pennsylvania."

Topics for discussion include Senate Bill 707, Senator Folmer's Taxpayer Protection Act; Senate Bill 1015, Senator Folmer's Taxpayer-funded Advertising Transparency Act; an overview of Healthy PA, Senator Folmer's healthcare reform proposal; and an overview of Senate tax initiatives and the state budget.

The meeting will also feature a legislative update from Senator Folmer and Representative Dave Hickernell, as well as a report from Dale High, CEO in residence of the college's S. Dale High Family Business Center, which provides tools, resources, and information for all things related to families in business. Tours of the business center will be available following the advisory committee meeting.

Business principals from the central Pennsylvania region, including Dauphin, Berks, Lancaster and Lebanon Counties, and all in between are invited to attend.

To register for the advisory meeting, contact Beth Williams, (717) 361-8623, or bwilliams@pasen.gov.
